FENCE talks food webs with Tryon Elementary third graders

Foothills Equestrian Nature Center staff members recently visited each third grade classroom at Tryon Elementary to talk about ecosystems and food webs

Foothills Equestrian Nature Center staff members recently visited each third grade classroom at Tryon Elementary to talk about ecosystems and food webs.

The presentations were part of FENCE’s program I Spy The Food Web, which talks about what is needed in an ecosystem to sustain life.

As part of the lesson, students dissected owl pellets and matched bones with different types of prey to learn more about an owl’s food chain.
