Former PCHS teachers return to help in fight against hunger

They may have retired, but they haven’t stopped supporting the students at Polk County High School.

Former teachers Susan Bowman, Cam Lawrence and Beth McCallister met at PCHS on March 23 to help 60 high school students pack food bags to support Rise Against Hunger.

Each of these ladies had a very successful career teaching and supporting students in Polk County. When they heard students would be working to provided food to school and orphanages around the world, they came to lend a hand.

At the end of the day, the students and adults packaged more than 10,000 bags of food.
