Grant helps Saluda fifth graders find their green thumbs

Saluda Elementary fifth graders have been developing their green thumbs for a good cause.

Thanks to a North Carolina Farm Bureau Agriculture in the Classroom grant awarded to teacher Ginger Rackley, students have been planting seeds, with plans to sell the plants grown from those seeds in a couple of months and use the money to replace the seeds, potting soil and planters used this year.

Some of the plants will be donated and others used in the flower beds around the school.
