Messy, stinky science – and PCMS students love it

Like science? With the messy and stinky science taking place this week in Rowann Hoy’s science class at Polk County Middle School, it’s hard not to love it.

Just ask her students.

“I like the lesson you did when you showed us that we are scientists. I didn’t think I was because I didn’t think I liked science, but I do,” said Alexia.

Students are exploring tough concepts such as identifying parts of an experiment through fun, but minds-on true experiments that include a control group, an independent variable, measurable data and many controlled variables.
