Music study comes to life during violin session for Polk Central second graders

Second grade students at Polk Central Elementary have been studying tone color and families of instruments with music teacher Beth Packer.

On Mov. 6, students were treated to a special visit from professional violinist and teacher Sharon Lawrence of Rutherford County.

Lawrence taught the students about string instruments, performed a variety of musical numbers on her violin and then finished the performance by having some of the students play along with her.

Those students all had a memorable day playing violin for the very first time.
