Sunny View Elementary’s Meet the Teachers day looked a little different this year, but still proved a resounding success.

With the global coronavirus pandemic preventing the normal event held before the start of classes, the school instead offered a drive-through afternoon, with teachers and staff lining the school parking lot to meet students and families in their vehicles.

Staff members, including new principal Preston Allen, passed out bracelets, masks, water bottles, lanyards and information packets.

At the end of the drive-through line, families were treated to snow cones purchased by the school’s Parent-Teacher Organization and prepared by Shaved Ice In Paradise.

Teachers felt it was exciting to see students and their families!
