Sunny View students design cars, head to “drive-in” for movie time

First grader Erik Kassel drives the bus that a parent, Philicia Pace, made for the event.

The Parent Teacher Organization at Sunny View Elementary School sponsored a fun “Drive-In” Movie Night on May 3.

First there was craft time, in which students and their parents and guardians designed cars made of cardboard boxes and other materials. Such creativity was sparked that some cars even included cup holders and GPS systems.

With the cars finished and in place at the “drive-in,” a movie was enjoyed, complete with popcorn and drinks.

Much fun was had by all! Special thanks goes to parent Rachael Haynes-Wood for designing and coordinating the event.
