Sunny view students, families spend evening on gingerbread houses

Sunny View Elementary prepared for the holidays with a special evening on Monday, with students and their families working together to decorate gingerbread houses.

More than 100 students and family members attended the event, sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Organization. Pizza, cookies and hot chocolate were served.

Impressive creativity was demonstrated in the large-sized gingerbread houses decorated by the students and their families. Some spent more than an hour on their house, getting the details just right — snow-covered roofs, maybe an upstairs theater, wreaths or friends and pets inside!

Each family worked together on the houses, and every child was able to take home their creation to play with during the Christmas break.
