Video: Saluda first graders fly planes to learn about force, motion

Student pilots in Ellen Rogers’ first grade class at Saluda Elementary recently tested the force needed to get the best motion from a prototype paper airplane.

Students are working on building different types of planes and using different types of force for the best flight time (motion).

“We might need to go back to the drawing board,” Rogers said. But the students are “having a great time experimenting in our outdoor classroom.”
