Third grade students at Polk Central Elementary were excited to welcome Helen Blackwell, Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development at Polk County Center, for a recent visit.
Blackwell provided a fun, hands-on lesson for students about force and motion. Students used Hot Wheels cars and tracks to experiment with force, motion and energy. They practiced measurement skills as they measured the cars’ response to applied force.
Students applied their knowledge to real-world examples through a group discussion.
