At Polk County Middle School, the third and fourth six weeks of the school year are set aside for seventh graders to head to the school library and take part in the Coloring Club.

Avery Moore works on a masterpiece during Coloring Club.
The program is stress relieving, makes for great conversation, is easy to manage, informal and doesn’t require participants to have a special artistic talent. The beauty of this program is that anyone can get involved.
School and public libraries have changed dramatically over the past years, becoming a place for collaboration, exploration and teamwork.
Funding for this program was graciously made possible through a Tryon Fine Arts Center BIG grant.
