ComMotion – Community In Motion, a nonprofit dance group from Raleigh, recently visited Polk County Schools and taught Latin dance basics to a handful of student groups in the district.
ComMotion instructors worked with Tryon Elementary Afterschool students, the Polk County High School Culture Club and Spanish classes at Polk County Middle School.
ComMotion’s Andre Avila, from Bogotá, Colombia, also spoke to one of the Spanish classes at Polk County High about Colombian culture.
Students and teachers look forward to working with ComMotion in the future and learning more dances. Anyone interested in more information about the group can visit www.ComMotionNC.org.
