Well-known puppeteer Hobey Ford helped Saluda Elementary fourth graders learn to create shadow puppets thanks to a grant from the WNC Community Foundation.
Ford, winner of the UNIMA Citation for Excellence and three Jim Henson Foundation grants, worked with students in Stephanie Uhrich’s class on the project.
The students created wonderful masterpieces and then shared them with their classmates. The students will use the lessons of the day to create shadow puppets for books to teach theme, character traits, plot development and more.
