The efforts of the Knights of Columbus at St. James Catholic Church in Tryon will help Exceptional Children teachers at Tryon Elementary and Polk County High School meet the needs of their students.

Through the Least Amongst My Brother (LAMB) project, the Knights helped raise more than $2,000 for local EC teachers. The donations will make a positive impact in the educational environment and experiences of the students in those classrooms.

“On behalf of Polk County Schools, I want to thank the Knights of Columbus and all who participated in and contributed to the LAMB fund for their generosity,” said Polk County Schools Superintendent Aaron Greene. “They are regular supporters of our students and schools, and their philanthropy helps improve learning for our students.”

Funds for the program were raised through Tootsie Roll sales at various venues and events as well as other fundraisers at the church.
