A group of local students recently took part in the Power of Code, a summer learning experience offered as part of Polk County School’s AIG Summer Seminars.

During the week-long session, funded by a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, students worked on several coding projects from Lego First and completed research on buildings needed in our community that are environmentally friendly, durable and accessible to all community members.

Students became Lego Masters and built replicas of their buildings while coding their building’s elevator, crane or wind turbine. Students also experimented with different coding robot challenges to enhance their coding skills.
