A group of band students from Polk County High and Polk County Middle performed in February with the Foothills Honor Band in concert in Polk County High School Auditorium.

Students from each high school and middle school in Polk and Rutherford counties were included to comprise the combined bands that gathered at PCHS on Feb. 24-25. Directors from each school selected students from their programs to work and participate in the clinic. Polk County had 29 high school and middle school students chosen for the Honor Band.

The participates in the bands worked with conductors that are considered outstanding conductors and clinicians. The conductor for the middle school band was Ana Bulluck of Asheville Middle School, with Chad Higdon of Patton High School in Morganton leading the high school band.

Students rehearsed with their conductors on Friday and Saturday morning before performing on Saturday afternoon.
