Students in Michelle Richardson’s second grade class at Polk Central Elementary have been learning about the election process.
Instead of holding a mock Presidential election, though, the students got to vote for their favorite fun activity. First, the students had to register to vote. Then they received a ballot that had four choices – pajama day, no homework, movie/popcorn or a popsicle treat.
Students had to wait in line to cast their ballot at the voting booth. Once all the votes were counted, pajama day won the election.
The students even got an “I voted today” sticker to wear as a reminder.
