PCEC’s Wanicka honored by ICC with fall semester award

Polk County Early College senior Autumn Wanicka has received one of Isothermal Community College’s Learning College Student of the Semester Awards for the fall 2020 semester.

Polk County Early College senior Autumn Wanicka has received one of Isothermal Community College’s Learning College Student of the Semester Awards for the fall 2020 semester.

Wanicka will be graduating this year with an Associate of Science degree as well as a Medical Office Administration – General Certificate in addition to her high school diploma. She has maintained a 4.0 college GPA during her years at PCEC and plans to continue her education and to study marine biology.

While at PCEC, Wanicka has participated in Poetry Out Loud (a poetry reading competition), PCEC Science Club and the PCEC Bridge Building Club.

Muse was one of 22 ICC students honored during a recent socially distant and face-covered ceremony in the lobby of The Foundation Performing Arts and Conference Center in Forest City.

Each student honored by ICC was nominated by one or several of their instructors. The nomination forms included a section of comments about the qualifications of each student.
