Polk County High student Zetta Anderson

Polk County High clarinet student Zetta Anderson recently earned one of the top acoomplishments available for state band students, a spot on the All State Honors Band.

Anderson earned an opportunity to audition for the All State Band after qualifying for the Western North Carolina All District Clinic Band as fifth chair. She took part in the state audition on March 5 and scored well enough to be one of 22 clarinet players across the state chosen for the Honors Band. Anderson will play with the 9/10 group.

The Honors Band clinic will be held April 28-30 in Greensboro. Colonel Timothy Holtan, the only officer to ever lead all three U.S. Army bands, will lead the 9/10 clinic.
