Nathalie Rameriz and Lacey Gosnell rose to the challenge issued by Polk County High School science teacher Leslie Rhinehart to her Honors Chemistry classes as part of their new online learning.
With students working remotely due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Rhinehart included fun activities her students could do at home with her regular content review.
“I wanted the students to still have some type of hands-on activities they could complete at home to keep them interested in chemistry and science,” Rhinehart said. “So I included some ‘Just for Fun’ activities at the end of the day’s assignment.
“Nathalie and Lacey shared their photos of their crystals with me. I miss our classroom activities and interactions, so this was great to see.”
Rhinehart encourages all her students to keep up with their chemistry assignments and look for other activities to share.
“We want our kids to be safe and well, help at home and to not stop learning,” she said. “I hope my students will use this extra down time to try new activities. Learn a new instrument, start a new exercise program, explore a new concept in their favorite subject or strengthen their skills in others.
“I miss them and want them to know I am always a click away.”
