The Polk County High School Exceptional Children’s Department and the Polk County Department of Health and Human Services will hold a Transition Fair on Friday at PCHS as part of #StandbymePolk anti-stigma Mental Health & Substance Mis-use Event.
The event runs from 4:30-6 p.m. and is designed to provide information to parents and caregivers about transition through high school, life after high school and connect directly with resource providers.
All attendees are then invited to attend a session from 6-7:30 p.m. with Tony Hoffman, a nationally recognized speaker who will talk about resilience, followed by a Naloxone training.
Key sponsors for the event include Vaya Health, Pavillion, St Luke’s Hospital, Kiwanis (Tryon NC Club) and Polk County HHSA’s Innovative Approaches. Through their support, child care and pizza will be provided, and prizes that include a large flat screen TV, Yeti cooler and a Solo Stove firepit will be awarded to event participants.
