Polk County High School FFA students recently earned a number of awards at the North Carolina FFA West Region Rally at Blue Ridge Community College.
A handful of PCHS teams placed second in events at the rally, which earned qualification for state competition this summer. Those teams included Intro to Horticulture, Floriculture, Nursery Landscape, Tool Identification and Agricultural Mechanics.
Individuals receiving awards included:
- Ella Waldman, 3rd place in Job Interview
- Chandler Burnett, 4th place in Extemporaneous Public Speaking
- Lawson Carter, 5th place in Prepared Public Speaking.
Polk’s Banks Barber was elected NC FFA West Region Treasurer for the 2023-24 academic year.
