The Polk County Middle School Book Club held its first meeting of the year on October 8 to discuss Serafina and the Black Cloak by Robert Beatty.
Club members watched the book trailer, participated in group discussion and shared various viewpoints of the book.
Amelia Hill, Program & Volunteer Coordinator at Polk County Public Libraries, provided mandala coloring sheets to go along with the discussion. As an extra treat, club members had hot apple cider from the Biltmore House.
The PCMS Book Club is facilitated by Laura Smith, PCMS Media Coordinator and Hill. The club plans in November to study The Bitter Side of Sweet by Tara Sullivan.
