PCMS Book Club weave in Morse code with monthly study

Polk County Middle Schools’s Monthly Book Club discussed The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart during its January meeting in the school media center

Polk County Middle Schools’s Monthly Book Club discussed The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart during its January meeting in the school media center.

Students first shared their thoughts on the book. Afterwards, members were treated to two activities that echoed the theme of the book.

In The Mysterious Benedict Society, four children are selected for a secret mission that requires them to go undercover at the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened, where the only rule is that there are no rules. To communicate with their mentor, the kids in The Mysterious Benedict Society have to learn Morse code.

Book Club members completed a Morse code puzzle and then made bracelets that used Morse code.
