Polk County Middle School’s hiking club, Nature Navigators, spent a lovely Saturday in February hiking with Polk County High School’s Carrie Baris and Katy Montgomery.
PCMS sixth grade science teacher Rowann Hoy led the Navigators on a hike rising 900-plus feet to Little Bearwallow Falls, a trek only Hoy and Baris had previously made.
When the Navigators reached the end of the hike, they were greeted by Sadie Allen, president of Polk County High’s hiking club, Climb, and club member Christian Etherson. The two talked with middle school students wanting to make the transition next year to the high school hiking club.
