Polk Central Elementary library renamed to honor Allen’s years of support

Lucinda Allen, a fixture in the Polk County educational community for more than two decades, was celebrated Wednesday for her unwavering dedication and generosity towards Polk Central Elementary during a special ceremony.

Allen, who has served on the Polk County Board of Education for 23 years, was recognized not only for her tenure but also for her consistent contributions to Polk Central’s literacy programs. Over the years, Allen has been a steadfast supporter of the school’s library, donating resources to enhance literacy initiatives.

In a gesture of appreciation, the Polk Central library has been officially renamed the Lucinda Allen Library, a testament to her commitment to the school and its students.

The renaming ceremony served as an opportunity for the school community to express their gratitude towards Allen for her tireless efforts in advancing educational opportunities for Polk County students.
