As the culminating project for their social studies unit on personal economics, Polk Central fifth graders in Andrea Walter’s class designed a board game during art class.
The students learned about the history of the very popular game of Monopoly, including its origins as a way to educate people about housing monopolies in the late 1800’s and the patent controversy.
Class members were occupied with making money, designing dice and thinking of all the ways that money affects their lives.
