Fourth grade students at Polk Central Elementary took part in a range of activities as part of the school’s Day of Discovery on November 9.
Students worked with Legos to create a powered windmill. They had to read and follow directions given to them to make the windmill work.
The fourth graders also played roles as part of the water cycle. Students rolled the dice to see the path of a water molecule. At the end, students had to write a creative story telling where they went in the cycle and how long they were there.
Students in fourth and fifth grades also learned about the water cycle, made an example of the water cycle and learned from Pacolet Area Conservancy staff about the watershed in our area.
