Shapes, corners and sides!
Kindergarten students in Stacey Stafford’s class at Polk Central Elementary have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes. Students learned about the differences between flat and solid shapes as well as the characteristics of different shapes – the numbers of sides and vertices (corners) of flat shapes, or the faces of solid shapes and whether they slide, stack or roll.
Among the activities involved, students used play doh and straws to compose 2D shapes.
