Polk Central marks Bullying Awareness Week with colorful dress themes

Polk Central Elementary recently held Bullying Awareness Week, with students dressing up each day for a different theme

Polk Central Elementary recently held Bullying Awareness Week, with students dressing up each day for a different theme.

School counselor Ashley Bell and technology instructor Brandon Moore collaborated to work with students in all grades to share online resources about bullying. Bell also did a classroom lesson with students, discussing how words and actions affect others.

Students and staff were encouraged to participate in the themed Bullying Awareness Dress-Up Week to show their support.

Monday: Say “No” to Bullying. Wear blue as a sign of peace and safety

Tuesday: Celebrate Diversity. Wear orange to support being different

Wednesday: Helping Hands. Wear Polk Central Rocket red or blue colors to support being a helpful Rocket

Friday: Cyberbullying- No Way!!. Wear neon colors to stand out against cyberbullying
