The 2017 Polk County FFA Land Judging team may not have won the National Land Judging Competition in Oklahoma City, Okla., but the team did maintain the Polk County FFA Chapter’s record for excellent finishes.
The team placed 25th out of 93 teams, ranking second in the Southeast and the top finishing team from North Carolina.
While in Oklahoma, the team toured many landmarks including the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial, Stockyard City and National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
The team thanks the Polk County Farm Bureau, Nature’s Storehouse, Carolina Farm Credit, Ruff Logging and others for helping sponsor the trip. Also, special thanks to retired Agricultural Education teacher Richard Smith for his continued support.
