Polk County Schools is asking families to read this information and to be prepared to make a decision regarding your students returning to school.
We will be sending a survey out tomorrow evening similar to the one sent earlier this month. There will be additional questions about things like internet access and transportation needs. Please be on the lookout for these surveys and do your best to complete them.
You can find the descriptions of the three options at www.polkschools.org/choices. Please remember that for grades PK-5, we hope to be in-person each day of the week, numbers permitting, and grades 6 through 12 on an alternating schedule by dividing students into two groups with each attending two days per week. This may have to change depending on how many students choose In-Person instruction.
Wolverine Academy will be a better option for students who are self-motivated, have reliable internet access, and an adult who can serve as a learning partner to help them during the day. The Wolverine Academy choice will mean students are enrolled for a semester and will remain at home in the Academy from August to January.
Remote Instruction will be a better option for families who do not have reliable internet, whose students would benefit from more frequent contact with teachers, or who do not wish to commit to an entire semester of Wolverine Academy. Again, we encourage you to read the information we have sent to get a better understanding of the differences. Our principals and counselors will be available next week if you wish to reach out to them for advice.
Again, please read the info and we will contact you again tomorrow. Having this information is the only way for us to move forward with our plans.
