Polk County Middle School students are exploring their love of literature and developing a positive attitude towards reading with the school’s book club.

The PCMS book club meets on the first Thursday of each month in the school’s media center. The club is sponsored by Laura Smith, PCMS Media Coordinator, and Amelia Hill, Program and Volunteer Coordinator at Polk County Public Library.

During each meeting, club members discuss the book chosen at the previous meeting, sharing insights about the book and holding discussions that help promote critical thinking. Polk County Public Library graciously reserves enough copies of each month’s book selection through NC Cardinal to allow each club member to have a book.

For February, club members are reading When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead.
