Students in Stephanie Gilbert’s seventh grade social studies class at Polk County Middle School recently used textbooks to visually graph the number of casualties in various countries during World War I.
They also graphed the number of casualties in six different wars on graph paper as part of an activity to integrate math with social studies.
Seeing the numbers graphed out on paper and on the floor with books helped them understand the magnitude of World War 1 and the vast amount of casualties that is caused.
