Barrel racer Kristin Yde and Miss North Carolina Rodeo Rachel Gagliardi spoke to the students about their personal journeys through the rodeo industry as well as the economic impact that rodeo animals have on the economy and how that benefits the agricultural industry.

Students in Ashley Gilbert’s Animal Science 1 class and Chauncey Barber’s Agricultural Production 1 class had the opportunity to listen to the presentation.

Gagliardi also gave a roping demonstration and lessons to some of the students.

The duo were in Polk County for the recent World Champions Rodeo (WCRA) Carolina that was held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.
