Saluda Elementary School is hosting the annual Coon Dog Day 5K run on July 9.
Students are getting involved by visiting local businesses seeking sponsors, making finisher medals and planning to cheer runners during the event. The 3.1 mile-run, beginning on Main Street in Saluda at 8 a.m., is a fundraiser for Saluda Elementary School.
The Coon Dog race is a perfect event for regular runners or those interested in a couch-to-5K program or even walking with friends. Registration is online as there is no race day registration planned. Swag bags, including technical fabric race T-shirts, are limited and available to the first people to register online.
The Coon Dog Day 5K can use volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Gina Burnett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Coon Dog Day 5K is made possible by sponsors including: Robin Kirby Pottery, Azalea Bistro, The SPOT, Newman’s Restaurant and the Orchard Inn, Green River Barbecue, Don Mintz Builders, Beverly Hanks Realtors, Green River Adventures, Wakey Monkey, Ward’s Grill, Garrison Family Dentistry, Amy Wood, Supreme Heating and Air, Cabin Fever, Green River Brew Depot, Saluda Mountain Lodge, Solstice Construction, Saluda Healing Center, Saluda Outfitters, M.A. Pace General Store, the Saluda Inn, Adventure Cycles-Saluda, BP Saluda Truck Stop, Jim Carson Studio/Gallery, Dad’s Collectibles, Saluda Lifestyles, Purple Onion, Carolina Cottage and Wildflour Bakery.
