Saluda fifth graders create fiction book, study Revolutionary War

Students in Ginger Rackley’s fifth grade class at Saluda Elementary have recently been exploring the Revolutionary War and writing their own fiction book

Students in Ginger Rackley’s fifth grade class at Saluda Elementary have recently been exploring the Revolutionary War and writing their own fiction book.

Class members read books about historical figures during the Revolutionary War period. Then they created a Soda Bottle person. Students had to decorate a soda bottle to look like the person they were reading about.

Students also created a Flipgrid video to present their project to the entire class.

Class members also completed their work of fiction, Wacky Weather Wednesdays, and sent it off to be published.

Each student wrote a fictional story about wacky weather that only happens on Wednesdays in their town of Saluda. Each student also illustrated their story. Pictured below are some of the authors with their books.
