Saluda Elementary first graders in Ellen Rogers’ class recently learned about Holi, a Hindu festival, with a splash of color.
While Holi originated in Southeast Asia, its popularity has spread around the globe. Holi celebrates the coming of spring after a long winter and is marked with throwing colored water and powder on friends and family.
The first graders watched a video, read and answered questions about the festival and then threw color onto paper doll people.
