Fourth grade students at Saluda Elementary recently enjoyed a day of learning about how day and night are related to the rotation of the Earth around the sun.
Students also learned about the phases of the moon and why the moon’s appearance changes throughout the year.
The fourth graders took part in a demonstration of why the moon appears to change shape. Students named the phases, recreated them via drawing, looked at photographs and finally ate them. The Oreos were used to demonstrate the eight phases of the moon.
