Students in Stephanie Fletcher’s second grade class at Saluda Elementary learned about voting ahead of the 2020 general election.
Students learned election day terms, read two stories about their candidates and compared their strengths and weaknesses.
Students could choose between two presidential candidates: Duck or Grace. These educated voters then filled out their voter registration cards, compared the candidates, entered the voting booths and cast their ballots.
When all votes were counted, Grace beat Duck by one vote. But Duck was still happy because he knew being president was hard, so he headed back to the farm!
