To promote the love of reading, community member Frank McNutt designed and constructed a Little Library located near the tennis courts of Saluda Elementary for the community to enjoy.
Little libraries are curbside boxes built within a community as a free book exchange with the concept being “take a book, share a book.”
Saluda Elementary media specialist Kevin Burnett, teacher assistant Ellen Rogers, art teacher Susan McRostie and Saluda Library branch assistant Cameron Langford collaborated on this project as a way to give to the community.
Saluda Elementary fifth grade students ambitiously took charge of the project by designing the artwork and painting the structure.
