Saluda Elementary School teacher Stephanie Uhrich recently received a Bright Ideas Grant from Rutherford Electric Membership Corporation to enrich hands-on science activities for her fourth grade students.
“We received many applications this year, but your innovative teaching methods and dedication to helping students succeed made your ‘Rock On Science’ project a standout,” said Joseph Joplin, REMC general manager.
Bright Ideas grants provide funding for innovative classroom-based projects. Since 1994, the program has awarded more than $11.5 million in grants across North Carolina, benefitting more than two million students.
