Polk Central’s second graders have been writing a scary lot about scarecrows.
Students used scarecrows as a springboard for creative writing activities. One class did a who, what, where, when, why and how writing activity. Another class did an imaginative writing assignment pretending that they woke up one morning and had turned into a scarecrow.
The third class read a book about scarecrows and then did a beginning, middle, end activity with that book.
