Polk County Schools students will have opportunities to attend school supplies distributions in their community prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year in late August.
School supplies will be available at points in Green Creek, Mill Spring and Tryon. The first of those distributions will be held July 29 at 5 p.m. at Green Creek First Baptist Church.
School supplies will also be available on August 4 at Polk County Middle School from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and on August 11 at Tryon United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Warrior Mountain Baptist Church will also hold a supply distribution on August 25 from 2-6 p.m. at Polk County Recreation Complex in Mill Spring. There will also be free games, food, book bags and even haircuts available for all school-age children.
The August 4 opportunity at PCMS is sponsored by Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry and is open to studentsn whose families are unable to purchase needed school supplies.
The distributions at Green Creek, Tryon and Mill Spring are open to any school-age student.
