A number of valuable items will be available for guests to bid on during the Feb. 1 Polk Cares 4 Kids event at Tryon International Equestrian Center.
One of the top items on the list is a 2016 Ford Fiesta from Stott’s Ford. The car has just 11,000 miles, making it an incredible value for a guest to take home. It is currently on display in the parking lot of HomeTrust Bank in Tryon.
Polk Cares 4 Kids, a fundraising celebration, will feature many items of value in one of three auctions during the evening. The event is an effort to raise proceeds to help offset the significant costs associated with extracurricular experiences, arts programming and athletics participation provided to students throughout Polk County Schools at no charge to them or their families.
All funds raised through the event will go into a general fund that will be used to support experiences such as Science Olympiad, Lego Robotics teams and other academic competitive teams as well as help with athletic expenses such as postseason trips.
The event will begin Feb. 1 in the Legends Club at TIEC with a reception at 5 p.m. Dinner follows at 6 p.m., with auctions at 7 p.m. and entertainment from 7:30-10 p.m. There will be a fishbowl auction, silent auction and a live auction.
Stott’s Ford is among the many businesses in the area who have donated items and packages for the event.
Businesses or organizations wishing to sponsor a table or provide donations for auctions should contact Jim Hemphill at 828-817-2955 or Aaron Greene at 828-817-0805. Individual and couples tickets are available for purchase at Stearns Education Center, Polk County High School and Polk County Middle School.
