Sunny View Elementary welcomed its first student council after holding an election on December 6.
Student candidates had to create a poster prior to giving a speech in front of students in grades three, four and five.
Student council members must strive for good grades, live up to the character traits (Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Individuality, Kindness, Caring, Citizenship) and have two teacher recommendations.
Congratulations to Amelia Gondek, Maddy Jarvis, Evan McCraw, Cameron Cole, Essie Bea Mitchell and Riley Casturo, who held their first board meeting on December 9.
