Tryon Elementary recently held its annual fourth and fifth grade musical, presenting “Music We Love Awards Show” to a packed house in the school auditorium on March 1.
The musical was written by art teacher Clara Rogers and directed by Rogers and music teacher Woody Cowan. During the show, Cowan received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his years of service to Polk County Schools.
Students presented different styles and genres of music through song and dance. Music categories included jazz, country, Disney animation, dance, silly songs, patriotic, rock ‘n’ roll and love songs.
The finale included all students singing “What a Wonderful World.”
