Polk County Schools has been ranked as one North Carolina’s top school districts – and its safest – in Niche.com’s 2018 school rankings.
Niche.com ranks every school district and school in the country based on a combination of data and human reviews. The website then used a series of statistical techniques to produce rankings and grades for those schools.
Polk County Schools is ranked as the sixth-best school district in North Carolina. The district also ranked as the safest school district in the state, the best place to teach in the state and second on the list of districts with the best teachers in the state.
“We are always pleased to receive notification that Polk County Schools has earned high ratings from an independent reviewer like Niche,” said Polk County Schools Superintendent Aaron Greene. “It provides another source of feedback for our district and schools. It is encouraging to learn what others feel we are doing well, and it affords us an opportunity to identify those areas in which we must continue to improve.
“Any success we achieve results from the tremendous efforts of our staff, hard work by our students and support and involvement from our families and community.”
“I wouldn’t want my children in any other schools,” a parent wrote in one of the reviews on the site. “There is so much attention to details for each child.”
Among schools in Western North Carolina, only Asheville City Schools (No. 4) ranked higher than Polk County Schools. Other rankings for area districts included:
